Data Taking Check List

Preparation before going on shift:

Task achieved
account in La Palma?
filled contact info?
read "Doing a shift" page?
read logbook of the last nights?
read shift forum?
familiar with the pages and features of smartfact?
familiar with the data taking limits?
computer prepared? vpn? vnc?
enter name in shift schedule?

Check List for every night:

Preparation before datataking
read all logbook and shift entries
Begin one hour before datataking
open Smartfact
showlog.php
GTC-Allsky camera and Magic weatherstation
create new thread in logbook start Shift summary
connect to La Palma establish VPN-connection
ssh to newdaq
screen on newdaq
vnc on gui and aux:1
plan schedule edit schedule.js
don't forget Startup and Shutdown
insert schedule to DB
write planned schedule in shift summary
telescope status start tpoint CCD (via page 10.0.100.230)
check telescope status in IR cam and tpoint CCD
weather conditions write weather conditions (allsky cam and magicweather) in logbook entry
Startup
Start Drive PWR_CONTROL/TOGGLE_DRIVE
unlock drive DRIVE_CONTROL/UNLOCK
Datataking
start datataking script dimctrl --start scripts/Main.js
write logbook entries
monitor the system
monitor the currents adapt schedule, if necessary
add comments to the Run-comment DB
monitor the QLA Website
Shutdown
stop datataking script dimctrl --stop
check status of telescope see below
Check status of telescope
no script running? dimctrl --stop
biasvoltage off? BIAS_CONTROL/SET_ZERO_VOLTAGE
trigger off? (ftmctrl should be in state Idle) FTM_CONTROL/STOP_TRIGGER
telescope status? check telescope status in IR cam and tpoint CCD
telescope parked? DRIVE_CONTROL/PARK
lid closed? LID_CONTROL/CLOSE
biasctrl disconnected? BIAS_CONTROL/DISCONNECT
logbook entries finished?
stop tpoint CCD (via page 10.0.100.230)
stop Drive PWR_CONTROL/TOGGLE_DRIVE
